de Artistas ÚNETE
Estimado/a Artista,
El Grupo de Artistas amigos de la
campaña ÚNETE para poner fin a la violencia contra las mujeres (Red de Artistas
ÚNETE) le invita a ser partícipe
de esta comunidad artística.
Encontrará muchos
motivos para unirse, pues la Red de Artistas ÚNETE es un Grupo de Artistas
amigos de la campaña ÚNETE para poner fin a la violencia contra las mujeres y
las niñas, que está formado por múltiples artistas de diversas disciplinas
artísticas, que han expresado su deseo de contribuir a los esfuerzos de las
Naciones Unidas por dar a conocer los objetivos, el trabajo y las actividades
de la Campaña y ampliar su difusión al público en general.
Teniendo en cuenta
su trayectoria, estamos convencidos de que será un/a defensor/a elocuente y
convincente, pues su talento y presencia será una valiosa contribución para
atraer la atención sobre los temas que aborda la Campaña y el objetivo que ésta
persigue: crear
una sociedad pacifica y basada en el apoyo mutuo que consiga poner fin a la
violencia contra las mujeres.
La Campaña tiene
una fuerte presencia en los 33 países de la región de América Latina y el
Caribe, con un alcance que ofrece un acceso único a las diferentes audiencias
de la región. Aceptando
este compromiso, ayudará a Campaña a compartir un mensaje enérgico
que llegue a los corazones y las mentes de las personas de todo el mundo y
contribuirá a lograr que los y las líderes políticos/as comprometan más
recursos humanos y financieros para la creación de un mundo sin violencia contra las
mujeres y que la sociedad, mujeres, hombres, jóvenes y niños y niñas
tomen conciencia de este problema y de la necesidad de cambiar las cosas.

A LA CAMPAÑA DEL SECRETARIO GENERAL
UNETE PARA PONER FIN A LA VIOLENCIA CONTRA LAS MUJERES
En febrero de 2008,
el Secretario General (SG) de las Naciones Unidas lanzó la Campaña ÚNETE para Poner Fin a la Violencia
contra las Mujeres, cuyo objetivo es generar mayor conciencia
pública e incrementar la voluntad política y los recursos asignados a prevenir,
responder y sancionar la violencia contra las mujeres. Para ello, el SG está
haciendo un llamado a la acción de gobiernos, sociedad civil, organizaciones de
mujeres, jóvenes, sector privado, artistas, medios de comunicación, hombres y
mujeres, niños y niñas, y a todas las Agencias, Fondos y Programas de Naciones
Unidas para que sumen esfuerzos para eliminar este problema. La Campaña se
extiende hasta el año 2015, reforzando así la necesidad de trabajar por el fin
de la violencia contra las mujeres para alcanzar los ODMs.
En América Latina y
el Caribe tres son los pilares de la Campaña: Alto a la Impunidad, Ni una
Más y La Responsabilidad es de Todos
y Todas, además de fortalecer los sistemas de información sobre todas las
formas de violencia contra las mujeres.
El objetivo de una
adhesión es fortalecer las acciones de los y las artistas en apoyo a la
Campaña, aprovechando el impulso de la gran influencia que tienen en la
sociedad, y motivando así a otros agentes de la comunidad artística a
adherirse. De este modo el objetivo de
la campaña, en torno a la prevención, atención, sanción y reparación de la
violencia contra las mujeres, estará cada día más cerca de cumplirse.
¿QUÉ
IMPLICA ADHERIRSE A LA CAMPAÑA?
Implica manifestar públicamente
su adhesión a los objetivos planteados por la Campaña. Supone un compromiso
real y tangible de mencionar esta Campaña y sus objetivos en sus intervenciones
públicas. Significa planificar en su
agenda la participación en los eventos, acciones y actividades de la Red de Artistas ÚNETE
Los beneficios de
pertenecer a esta comunidad es manifestar en primera instancia, su apoyo y
compromiso con una importante causa, trabajar por el fin de la violencia contra
las mujeres. Podrá establecer conexiones con artistas comprometidos que
trabajan temas comunes.
Todo ello, teniendo
en cuenta que dispondrá de las redes sociales y medios de comunicación de la
Campaña ÚNETE para la difusión de sus actividades.
¿CÓMO
PUEDE ADHERIRSE?
A través de una
manifestación pública que refleje y transmita a la sociedad su firme compromiso
de abordar seriamente la violencia contra las mujeres en su agenda mediante acciones
significativas.
Le invitamos a firmar un Certificado
de Adhesión a la Campaña, y le exhortamos a invitar a otros artistas a
adherirse.
Los/as
artistas participantes serán voceros/as de la Campaña y se les anima a instar
en sus comunidades la creación y el mantenimiento de culturas basadas en la
igualdad y en la paz.

Artists Network UNiTE
Dear artist,
The Artists Group of Friends of the UNiTE campaign to end violence against women (Artist Network UNiTE) invites you to be part of this artist community.
You will find many reasons to join, because the Artists
Network UNiTE is a Group of
Artists Friends of the UNiTE campaign to put an
end to violence against women and girls, which is formed by multiple artists of
various artistic disciplines, who have expressed their will to contribute to
the efforts of the United Nations to make known the objectives, the work and the
Campaign activities, and to extend its dissemination to the general public.
Having in mind your
track record, we are convinced you will be an eloquent and persuasive defender,
as your talent and presence will be a valuable contribution in order to attract
the attention over the issues the campaign addresses, and the objective it
pursues: to create a pacific
society based on the mutual support to put an end to violence against women.
The campaign has a
strong presence in the 33 countries of the Latin America and the Caribbean
region. It also has a unique access to different audience of the region. Accepting this
commitment, you will help the Campaign to share a energetic message that will reach the
hearts and the minds of person over the world; and will contribute to achieve
the politicians leaders will commit more human and financial resources for the creation of a world
with violence against women. It also will raise awareness within women, men, young
and children about this issue and the necessity to change the things.

LETTER OF SUPPORT
TO THE SECRETARY GENERAL’S CAMPAIGN UNiTE TO END VIOLENCE
AGAINST WOMEN
In February 25th,
2008, the United Nations Secretary-General (SG), Ban Ki-moon, launched the UNiTE to End Violence
Against Women Campaign in response to an
international consensus to end violence against women and children. The
campaign calls on governments, civil society, women organizations, youth,
private sector, artists and media, as well as all the United Nations agencies
to join forces to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls. The
goal is to raise awareness among the public and demanding the State exercises
its duty and responsibility to its citizens to achieve an end to impunity and
to enforce the laws and increase the provision of resources for comprehensive
services for women. This Campaign extends to 2015, reinforcing the necessity of
working for the eradication of violence against women for the accomplishment of
the Millennium Development Goals (MDG)
The Latin America and
the Caribbean UNiTE Campaign is based on
three pillars: ‘Stop impunity’, ‘Not even one more’ and ‘It’s everyone’s
responsibility’, besides to strengthen
the information systems about all the forms of violence against women
The objective of an
adhesion is to strengthen the actions of the artists supporting the Campaign,
building on the momentum of their influence on society, and motivating as well
to other agents of the artistic community to join us. In this way the objective
of the campaign, focused on prevention, care, punishment and repair of the
violence against women, will be each day closer to being fulfilled.
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN
SUPPORTING THE CAMPAIGN?
It implies to
publicly manifest the support to Campaign’s objectives. It supposes a real
commitment of talking about this campaign and its goals in each one of your
public interventions. It means to plan in your agenda your participation in the
activities organized by The Artists Group Friends of the UNiTE
campaign to end violence against women, Artists Network UNiTE.
The benefits of
belonging to the Artists Group of Friends of UNiTE campaign to put an end to the violence against women,
is to manifest in the first instance, your support and commitment to an
important cause, and to work for the end of violence against women. You may
establish connections with artists committed that work on common issues and you
may participate in the events, actions and activities of the Artists Network UNiTE.
All of this taking
into account that you will be able to use the social networks and media of the
UNITE for the dissemination of your activities activities (Blog Artists Network UNiTE, Twitter and facebook, youtube, flicker).
HOW TO JOIN THIS NETWORK?
Through a public intervention that reflect and transmit
to the society your strong commitment to seriously address the violence against
women in your agenda through meaningful action.
We invite you to sign a certificate of membership to
the campaign, and we encourage you to invite other artists to join.
The participating artists will be spokespersons of the
Campaign and are encouraged to call on their communities for the creation and
maintenance of cultures based on equality and peace.
